How to Get Mewtwo, Armored Mewtwo, & Shadow Mewtwo in Cobblemon
Why Mewtwo is Worth The Hunt
Mewtwo is one of the most powerful and sought-after legendary Pokemon, but you won’t find it wandering the wild in standard gameplay. To add this psychic powerhouse—and its specialized forms—to your team, you’ll need the right mods and a bit of laboratory work.

Step 1: Install the Necessary Data Packs
Mewtwo and its various forms are not included in vanilla Cobblemon. To see them in your game, you must install the All the Mods (ATM) data pack and resource pack.
Installation Tip: You must place the file in both your datapacks folder and your resourcepacks folder.
Crucial Step: Ensure the resource pack is active in your game settings. If you skip this, your Mewtwo will appear as a generic green substitute doll instead of its actual model.
Step 2: Build the Resurrection Machine
The developers of the “All the Mods” pack created a unique “Easter egg” method for obtaining Mewtwo that mirrors the Pokemon anime. Instead of catching it in the wild, you must “create” it using laboratory equipment.
The Lab Setup:
- Place down a Fossil Analyzer.
- Place a Data Monitor on top of the analyzer.
- Place a Restoration Tank to the right of the analyzer.
Step 3: How to Summon Mewtwo
Once your lab is set up, you need specific ingredients to begin the restoration process.
Required Ingredients:
- 1 Psychic Gem.
- 1 Nether Star: You can obtain these by defeating the Wither or by knocking out Groudon. (In Cobblemon with All the Mods, Groudon can be an ultra-rare spawn in Badlands biomes.)
Power Source: You must power the tank using organic materials like apples or leaves.
For the fastest results, use Max Revives.
- Place the Psychic Gem and Nether Star into the bottom of the Restoration Tank.
- The process typically takes 10 to 15 minutes to complete.
- Once finished, right-click the tank with your choice of Pokeball to claim your Mewtwo.
Step 4: How to Get Shadow Mewtwo
One of the best features of this data pack is the ability to evolve Mewtwo into its Shadow form.
Evolution: Right-click your Mewtwo with a Dark Gem to trigger the evolution animation.
Reversing the Form: If you want your standard Mewtwo back, simply right-click it again with another Dark Gem.
Step 5: How to Get Armored Mewtwo
If you want the team rocket armored version, you can get Armored Mewtwo instead.
Evolution: Right-click your Mewtwo with a Steel Gem.
Reversing the Form: Just like the Shadow form, right-clicking again with a Steel Gem will revert it to its normal state.
Compatibility Warning: Mega Showdown
If you are running the Mega Showdown mod alongside “All the Mods,” they may not be compatible by default. To fix this, ensure you are using the version of “All the Mods” specifically designed for Mega Showdown compatibility. All the mon x mega showdown link.
