How Cobblemon evolutions work

Every Pokémon in Cobblemon evolves by meeting one or more requirements. The most common method is levelling up, but many Pokémon need high friendship, an evolution stone (such as a Fire Stone or Thunder Stone), a trade, or a specific condition like the time of day, a held item, or knowing a certain move. Because Cobblemon sets its own rules, a Pokémon's evolution method here can differ from the handheld games — always use the method shown above.

Common evolution methods

Raise friendship fast: feeding friendship-boosting berries is the quickest way to a friendship evolution. The Kelpsy, Grepa, Pomeg, Qualot, Hondew and Tamato berries all increase your Pokémon's friendship (they also lower EVs, so feed them early). See where to grow each one with our berry tool, or read the full friendship guide.

Frequently asked questions

Why are some Cobblemon evolutions different from the games?

Cobblemon re-implements evolution data to fit Minecraft. Some Pokémon use new triggers (like items found in the world) instead of mechanics that don't exist in Minecraft, so the requirements above reflect Cobblemon, not the main-series games.

How do I raise friendship quickly in Cobblemon?

Keep the Pokémon in your party, win battles with it, and feed it friendship-boosting berries — Kelpsy, Grepa, Pomeg, Qualot, Hondew and Tamato all raise friendship. Once friendship is high (160+), level it up to trigger the evolution.

Where do I find evolution stones?

Evolution stones can be crafted or found while exploring and mining. Right-click your Pokémon while holding the matching stone to evolve it.
